Performance 25’s

“I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks one time. But I fear the man that has practiced one kick 10,000 times.” – Bruce Lee

At least 1 P25 is required for each Poomsae for your rank. The purpose for this is to allow your body to memorize the motions. The more we do a technique the less our body and mind have to think about what comes next. We can always be improving so after your body has memorized the motions, there are many areas we can focus on. Some Ideas are listed to the right.

That being said, DO NOT do multiple P25’s in a row for the same Poomsae. We want to make sure that you are doing the form correctly because body memory is incredibly difficult to change. But it’s a lot easier to fix it after 25 times vs 50 times.  So make sure you get an evaluation from your instructor before doing the next one.

Things to focus on:

  • Memorization
  • Stances
      • Distance/Accuracy
      • Level 1 vs. Level 2
  • Blocks & Strikes
      • Accuracy
      • Setting with both hands
  • Hand and Feet Arriving at the same time
  • Tempo
  • Specific feedback you received from Color Belt Testing
